After playing in Moby Grape, Quicksilver Messenger Service, and Jefferson Airplane, Alexander "Skip" Spence created one of rock's truly visionary landmarks, 1969's acid soaked Oar. His only solo album, the disc was more than a little too far out for the record-buying public when it was first released.
